What is Cloud Computing?
What, where, (who??) is the cloud? These are questions that are being asked in organisations across the world – cloud computing is seemingly everywhere.
A basic description is that cloud computing means storing and accessing data and/or applications on someone else computer, rather than your own. The cloud is just another way of stating “somewhere else”, usually somewhere on the Internet. It goes back to Visio diagrams and presentations that would show white blobby clouds instead of a vast array of compute, network, and storage infrastructure.
